Each part is rated on one scale for every smartwatch and band, from reviewers' accuracy tests and measured battery life where they exist, what reviewers found, specs and owner reports. It rates the product itself, not how good it is for the price.

Pros

  • GPS very close on a measured course
  • Handy built-in torch
  • Bright AMOLED screen
  • Tough and more comfortable strap
  • Heart rate close to a strap in two runs
  • AMOLED readable in sun
  • Outlasts the Venu 3 and Forerunner 265

Cons

  • Heart rate lags in intense intervals
  • No detailed maps
  • Shorter battery than other AMOLED Garmins
  • No offline maps
  • Button-only and somewhat laggy
  • Same heart-rate sensor as the Instinct 2
  • Few genuinely new features
  • OutdoorGearLabJun 2025

Tested the AMOLED version: GPS hugged their measured 2.8-mile course, but heart rate ran about 3-6 bpm off a Polar H10 and lagged in bursts; just under a week with always-on screen.

  • Android CentralFeb 2025

On the 50mm AMOLED, heart rate stayed within about 1 bpm of a Coros chest strap on a track session and a normal run; a solid long-lasting rugged watch, but the old sensor, laggy buttons and missing maps feel stale for the price.

  • PhoneArena

A rugged AMOLED Garmin that lasts over a week where an Apple Watch Ultra lasts two days; GPS and heart rate felt accurate on a run, but no reference device was used.
