Tom's GuideSep 2026
Apple's main watch gets better with a faster chip and new heart sensor; against a Garmin chest strap its heart rate was essentially exact. Editor's Choice.
-
T3Oct 2026
The best regular Apple Watch so far, though many additions only catch up with rivals; heart rate stayed within 1-2 bpm of a Garmin Fenix 9 Pro on runs, walks and rides.
Reported by many owners
Common complaints
- Watch restarted by itself for many early owners (during calls, workouts, Maps or even idle); Apple fixed it with watchOS 27.0.1 a week after launch
