Each part is rated on one scale for every smartwatch and band, from reviewers' accuracy tests and measured battery life where they exist, what reviewers found, specs and owner reports. It rates the product itself, not how good it is for the price.

Pros

  • Heart rate close to a chest strap in steady workouts
  • Petite, good-looking case
  • More sleep detail and sport modes than the first Lily
  • Just over four days per charge with daily workouts
  • Very light
  • Five days or more per charge in testing
  • Good running stats

Cons

  • Heart rate lost track in interval/HIIT workouts
  • No built-in GPS; needs the phone
  • No side buttons, touch only
  • Few smart features; Garmin Pay only on Classic
  • No ECG or skin temperature
  • Touchscreen often too sensitive or ignores taps
  • Sleep analysis fairly thin
  • Android AuthorityJan 2024

Tested the Classic for eight days: heart rate matched a Polar H10 chest strap and an Apple Watch well at rest and on runs, rides and rowing but went badly off in a burpee-heavy HIIT session; phone-based GPS routes lined up with an Apple Watch. A good basic tracker for small wrists.

  • TechRadarSep 2024

Light, comfortable tracker with useful running stats and five-plus days of battery, let down by a fussy touchscreen; no heart-rate comparison against a strap was done.

  • Wareable2024

Tested the Classic: elegant and comfortable for casual exercisers; heart rate kept up with HIIT changes as fast as an Apple Watch Series 9, but sleep was under-recorded by 30+ minutes a night versus the Apple Watch.

  • AdvntureJan 2024

Pretty, everyday-looking tracker with better sleep and cycle/pregnancy tracking than the first Lily; phone-linked pace and routes seemed right, but no formal accuracy test.

Reported by many owners

Common complaints

  • In late January 2025 a bug made many Garmin watches, the Lily 2 among them, freeze on a blue triangle or restart when starting an activity; Garmin acknowledged it and suggested a power cycle until a fix
