For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Full-power 140 W RTX 4060 with a strong Ryzen CPU
  • Sharp 16:10 QHD+ 165Hz screen
  • Plenty of ports
  • Room to add RAM and a second SSD
  • Long battery life for light use (about 11 h browsing)
  • Accurate, flicker-free 165Hz panel with G-Sync and MUX
  • Sturdy build and comfortable keyboard

Cons

  • Only zone RGB lighting, no per-key
  • GPU mode switching is slow (about 10 seconds)
  • CPU and SSD run very hot
  • Loud in Performance mode
  • Plastic base
  • RTX 4070 gives little over a 4060 in some games
  • RTX 4060 version is thicker than 'Slim' suggests
  • 91mobilesApr 2025

    Tested the India Ryzen 7 8845HS / RTX 4060 (140 W) / 16GB / 1TB version: a well-rounded 16-inch gamer that also suits students and creators, best bought with a bank offer.

  • LaptopMediaApr 2024

Tested a global Ryzen 7 8845HS / RTX 4070 (140 W) unit: fast and fairly thin with a solid feel and long light-use battery life, but it runs hot and loud under load.

  • NotebookcheckAug 2023

Review of the previous Gen 8 (16APH8, Ryzen 7 7840HS / RTX 4060) in the same chassis: smart, understated design and a well-calibrated screen, but the GPU fell short of expectations.

  • PC GamerOct 2023

Review of the Gen 8 (Ryzen 7 7840HS / RTX 4060 / 16GB / 512GB, same chassis): very good balance of price and speed; the main weakness is gaming away from the charger.
