Pros

  • Class-leading single-core speed
  • Silent fanless design that doesn't slow in games
  • Accurate screen without flicker
  • Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6
  • Long battery life and very good six-speaker sound
  • Light and sturdy for a 15-inch
  • Fast M5 performance

Cons

  • Soldered memory and storage
  • Only 60Hz
  • One-year warranty
  • Weak webcam with no face unlock
  • Price rose by $100
  • Few changes over M4
  • Slows noticeably under long heavy loads
  • NotebookcheckMar 2026

Tested 32GB/2TB: very fast and very efficient without a fan, with no real Windows rival; upgrades and 60Hz remain the weak spots.

  • Tom's GuideMar 2026

Tested 15-inch 16GB/1TB: a small step from M4 and dearer, but an excellent big-screen laptop for most people.

  • LaptopMedia2026

Config not stated: one of the easiest everyday laptops to recommend, with the bigger screen adding to the appeal.
