Score breakdown
For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.
Pros
- 120 Hz 3K OLED as standard on every version
- Graphics are strong for such a thin machine
- Rigid metal body and good-sounding speakers
- Battery lasts very long
- One of the best-looking thin laptops of the year
- Typing and the haptic touchpad are a pleasure
- Well-calibrated OLED
Cons
- Fan gets loud fast and the GPU speed wobbles under load
- CPU results lower than expected for the top chip
- Keys feel soft and mushy; top bezel is thick
- Only the SSD can be upgraded
- Core Ultra 7 performance disappoints for the money
- Shiny screen mirrors lights badly outside
- USB-C only, no Thunderbolt 5

NotebookcheckJun 2026
Tested Core Ultra X9 388H / Arc B390 / 32GB / 3K OLED (US): the redesign fixes the old 60 Hz screen and bulk and is among HP's best small laptops, but it is costly and the X9 trails rival chips on CPU work.
-
ClubicJun 2026
Tested Core Ultra 7 356H / 32GB / 1TB / 3K OLED touch (the chip sold in India): lovely to look at and use every day, but its speed does not match the price.
-
Tom's GuideAug 2026
Tested Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-90-100 / 64GB / 2TB (US): sleek, quick, bright and long-lasting (13.5 h web test), yet the few ports, Arm app gaps and price stop it short of the best-laptop list.
-
ITProSep 2026
Tested the UK base version (Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-64-100, 16GB, 512GB, 1920x1200 60 Hz OLED): record-setting 37 h video loop and fair value, but the base screen is dim and glossy.
