For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Full-power RTX 5060 and a fast CPU
  • Surfaces stay cool while gaming
  • Good keyboard and touchpad
  • Clean, grown-up design
  • Long battery life for an RTX 5070 laptop (8.5+ h in Eco mode)
  • GPU stays cool and steady
  • Two RAM and two SSD slots, replaceable battery and Wi-Fi card

Cons

  • Base screen is dim-ish, narrow in colour and slow
  • Ships with one RAM stick
  • No USB4/Thunderbolt or card reader
  • Smallish battery in this version
  • Ads in the Omen Gaming Hub app
  • Picks up fingerprints
  • Base screen looks washed out (about 52% sRGB)
  • NotebookcheckOct 2025

    Tested 16-ap0091ng (Ryzen 9 8940HX / RTX 5060 115 W / 16 GB single stick / 144 Hz 1200p, Germany): plenty of gaming power in a neat, cool-running body, let down mostly by a dull, slow screen.

  • LaptopMediaMar 2026

Tested 16-am0000 (Core 7 240H / RTX 5070 / 32 GB / 2 TB / 144 Hz 1200p): a quiet-looking all-rounder with surprisingly long battery life for its class; pick the better screen if you can, the CPU gets very hot.

  • LaptopMediaNov 2025

16-ap0000 (AMD version; tested config not stated): balanced mid-to-high gaming laptop with a tough, practical body and excellent cooling; the base screen is the weak point (read via Notebookcheck's summary).

  • CNETOct 2025

US 16-ap0000 (RTX 5060 class): good-looking and strong at 1080p, worth it only at a sale price; the reviewer prefers Legion 5i Gen 10 and Alienware 16X Aurora (read via Notebookcheck's summary).

  • Jarrod'sTechNov 2025

Ryzen AI 7 350 / RTX 5060 version: often cheaper than HP's own Victus yet faster in games, with the usual budget-gaming compromises (read via Notebookcheck's summary).
