For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Colourful, high-refresh QHD+ screen
  • Excellent keyboard
  • Strong gaming and CPU speed
  • About 5 hours of battery
  • Low price on sale
  • Desktop-class speed from the i9 and RTX 4070
  • Full-size gamer keyboard layout

Cons

  • Touchpad is small
  • Speakers sound rough and hollow
  • Grainy 720p webcam
  • Heavy and bulky with a huge 330 W brick
  • Keys feel soft
  • Colours not as rich as OLED
  • Small touchpad
  • Laptop MagNov 2024

Editor's Choice: the reviewer's favourite cheap gaming laptop in years thanks to a vivid fast screen, a great keyboard and strong speed, held back only by a small touchpad and poor sound (tested: US unit, Core i7-13650HX, RTX 4060, 16 GB, 1 TB, 240 Hz 1600p, mechanical keyboard, at a $949 sale price).

  • PCWorldMay 2024

Big and very powerful: a cheaper desktop replacement than 18-inch rivals, best for people who rarely carry it (tested: Core i9-13900HX, RTX 4070, 32 GB, 1 TB, 240 Hz QHD+, $1,900; Notebookcheck lists 80%).

  • LaptopMediaJun 2023

Shows how hard Dell lets this chassis run: the processor pulls close to 200 W and the RTX 4060 about 140 W, with an easy-to-upgrade inside (tested: RTX 4060 unit; only the first part of the review could be read).
