For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Solid-feeling body
  • Good screen and speakers for the price
  • Plenty of ports
  • Around 9 hours on a charge
  • Low price
  • Good battery life
  • Runs Android apps alongside web apps

Cons

  • Keyboard and touchpad feel average
  • Weak webcam
  • Slows down with many tabs open
  • Battery falls short of the 11-hour claim
  • Not suited to heavy work such as games, coding or video editing
  • Feels sluggish in daily use
  • Dim screen
  • India TodayDec 2023

Handles student and casual use well for the money (tested: 14-inch CX1400, India model; read via Notebookcheck's summary).

  • TechlusiveNov 2023

A fair Windows-laptop substitute for students and writers who live in Chrome and Android apps, not for gaming, coding or editing (tested: CX1400, probably the Flip; read via Notebookcheck's summary).

  • Trusted ReviewsNov 2021

An okay big-screen Chromebook for light users on a tight budget, held back by slow speed and a plain design (tested: older CX1500 with Celeron N3350, 4 GB, 32 GB, 1366x768 - not the India N4500 model).
