For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • About 2.1 kg, lighter than most rivals
  • Room to add RAM and a second SSD
  • Good port mix including Thunderbolt 4
  • Compact 135 W charger
  • Fast for the money, no throttling over hours of tests
  • Temperatures stay under control
  • Lots of ports

Cons

  • Pale, slow 60% sRGB screen
  • Body creaks and the lid wobbles
  • Ships with one RAM stick
  • Performance mode is loud for little gain
  • Dull colours on the 144 Hz screen
  • Thin, quiet speakers
  • Very loud fans at full tilt
  • NotebookcheckJan 2024

Tested ANV15-51 with Core i5-13420H and RTX 4050: light for a gaming laptop, easy to upgrade and fairly priced, but the screen and build are where Acer saved money.

  • 91mobilesSep 2024

Tested Indian i5-13420H + 65 W RTX 3050 at Rs 69,990: very strong gaming value; accept a washed-out screen and weak speakers.

  • Tom's GuideDec 2024

Tested i5-13420H + RTX 3050, 8 GB: older parts, but cheap enough to be a sensible entry gaming laptop.

  • LaptopMediaDec 2023

Tested RTX 3050 (65 W) version: a good budget mix of Aspire and Nitro with cooling that holds clocks, let down by hot CPU spikes and a narrow-gamut panel.

  • Tom's GuideFeb 2024

Tested i7-13620H + RTX 4050: ordinary hardware made worse by stutter in the default mode and pushy preinstalled software; reviewer points to rivals.
