For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Real graphics chip makes light gaming possible
  • Plenty of speed for the money
  • Keyboard has a backlight
  • Lots of hardware for the price, including a separate graphics chip
  • About 6 hours in a video battery test
  • Easy to add RAM, with space for a second SSD
  • Comfortable keyboard with numpad, plus Ethernet

Cons

  • Screen is dim (about 211 nits) and colours look washed out
  • Battery only lasted about 4.5 hours of office work
  • Uses previous-generation chips
  • Low brightness (about 202 nits) and only around 58% sRGB
  • Weak speakers
  • Lid shows fingerprints
  • Small arrow keys and not many ports
  • StuffFeb 2024

Tested the older A715-76G (Core i5-12450H, RTX 2050, 8 GB): a sensible family laptop that can play games, if you accept dated parts, a dull screen and staying near a socket.

  • Creative BloqApr 2024

Tested A715-76G (Core i5-12450H, RTX 3050 4 GB, 16 GB): good-value all-rounder for everyday and light creative work, but the pale screen rules it out for colour work.

  • Expert ReviewsDec 2023

A715-76G with RTX 2050 (summary from Notebookcheck's review list; page could not be opened): a balanced general laptop that games better than most non-gaming machines, held back by a flat, dull screen.

  • Root NationApr 2024

A715-76G with RTX 2050 (summary from Notebookcheck's review list; page could not be opened): solid build that can stand in for a home PC for office work and current games, with an average battery and a dim, inaccurate screen.
