For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Body feels better made than the price
  • Silent fanless design with no screen flicker
  • Long update support (to 2033)
  • Some parts (battery, Wi-Fi card) can be swapped
  • Ran about 16 hours in the battery test
  • Light to carry
  • Nice colour

Cons

  • Washed-out TN screen with narrow viewing angles
  • Slow chip and slow eMMC storage
  • No keyboard light and no HDMI
  • Plastic picks up scratches
  • Only 4 GB memory, so it slows with many tabs
  • Slow compared with pricier Chromebooks
  • Poor 720p camera
  • NotebookcheckJan 2024

A starter Chromebook for light browsing and school work only; the body is the best part, the screen and speed are basic (tested: 14M868 82XJ, 4 GB, 64 GB eMMC, Full HD TN - not the India HD version).

  • PCWorldAug 2023

A light, cheap Chromebook with very long battery life for students and young workers, as long as nobody expects speed (tested: 4 GB, 64 GB, Full HD touch, US model).

  • Chrome UnboxedJul 2023

One of the better cheap Chromebooks for home and school use after a week of testing, though not for heavy multitasking (tested: 4 GB, 64 GB, Full HD matte touch, US model).
