For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Enough speed for office and everyday work at a low price
  • Flicker-free IPS screen with wide viewing angles
  • Keyboard with numpad and a decent touchpad
  • Lasts about 7 h of video on a small 41 Wh battery
  • Easy to upgrade: two RAM slots, M.2 plus a 2.5-inch bay
  • Sounds better than expected

Cons

  • Screen is pale (about half of sRGB) and only moderately bright
  • Processor runs very hot in short bursts
  • Plastic base bends under pressure
  • Cheapest versions abroad cut corners (768p TN, no backlight)
  • LaptopMedia

Tested Core i3-1215U, 8 GB (one stick), 512 GB, FHD IPS: a sensible cheap laptop for office and home tasks if you pick a six-core-or-better version with the 1080p IPS screen and add a second RAM stick.
