For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Fast enough for everyday multitasking and light games like Valorant
  • Plenty of ports including Ethernet and a card reader
  • Low price for 16 GB of RAM
  • Solid metal build with a 180-degree hinge
  • Speakers better than most at this price
  • Good range of ports

Cons

  • Dim, washed-out screen that struggles even indoors
  • No keyboard light
  • Thin-sounding speakers
  • Keyboard deck bends under a firm press
  • Poor TN display
  • Only 8 GB RAM fitted although a slot is free
  • Small 36 Wh battery, about 5 hours of video
  • 91mobiles

Tested AL15-41 (Ryzen 7 5700U, 16 GB, 512 GB, Rs 39,990): a sensibly built budget machine for study and office work, not for creative work or serious gaming.

  • 91mobilesSep 2024

Tested AL15-53 (Core i3-1305U, 8 GB, 512 GB): sturdy metal body and good speakers, but the TN screen, 8 GB RAM and small battery make it a weak everyday laptop.
