Each part is rated on one scale for every smartwatch and band, from reviewers' accuracy tests and measured battery life where they exist, what reviewers found, specs and owner reports. It rates the product itself, not how good it is for the price.

Pros

  • So comfortable you forget it is on
  • Clean, focused app
  • Battery lasted more than 12 days in the test
  • Bicep wear gives chest-strap-like workout heart rate
  • Overnight HRV lines up well with other night-time trackers
  • Strength training load from motion is more believable than heart-rate guesses
  • App and coaching are the real strength

Cons

  • Workout heart rate went wrong several times next to a Garmin
  • Useless without a paid membership
  • Cheaper trackers do more for the money
  • Wrist heart rate unreliable in arm-heavy workouts and some rides
  • Deep sleep looked overestimated against other trackers
  • Sensor itself judged ordinary rather than class-leading
  • Workout heart rate read both high and low against a chest strap
  • Worn against a Garmin Forerunner 970 for a dozen-plus runs and gym sessions, the 5.0 showed spikes, a wrong first few minutes and smoothed-out hill efforts (likely locking onto running cadence); pleasant to wear and lasted over 12 days, but poor value with the membership.

  • the5krunnerJul 2025

The deepest accuracy test found: worn on the bicep, workout heart rate matched chest straps well, but on the wrist HYROX-style sessions and a bike ride gave wrong highs; overnight HRV agreed closely with Oura and Eight Sleep, morning HRV did not match a Polar H10 reading; tested the MG (same sensor platform).

  • Rated highly for long-term health insights and the big battery jump, but in runs, tennis and gym sessions against a Garmin HRM-Pro Plus chest strap and an Apple Watch Ultra 2 its average heart rate was off by about 5-14 bpm either way; tested the MG.

  • Recommends the 5.0 on the Peak tier as a clear step up from the 4.0: smaller, faster syncing, sleep times matched an Oura Ring 4 and a Withings mat to the minute, and the battery was at 27% after two weeks; read via inkl's copy.

  • TechGearLabAug 2025

Their top pick for a screenless coaching tracker with the most detailed sleep breakdown they tested; heart rate was about 94% of their benchmark monitor, but live readings lag and treadmill distance without a phone was way off.

Reported by many owners

Common complaints

  • Many owners say wrist heart rate during workouts is wrong (too high, flat or slow to react), worse than the 4.0; wearing it higher up the arm or on the bicep helps some
