  • Fresh camera island design
  • Strong build, 6m water rating
  • Bright HDR OLED
  • Good battery for its size
  • Excellent speakers
  • Strong performance

Not so good

  • Dear next to Android rivals
  • 60Hz, no Always-On, thicker bezels
  • No charger, slow charging
  • No telephoto
  • 128GB base
  • 60Hz
  • Wi-Fi 7 limited to 160MHz
  • GSMArena80/100Sep 2024

Solid, familiar update with few new tricks; a fine step for older iPhone owners, while Android gives more hardware for the money (score via Notebookcheck list).

  • Notebookcheck88/100Oct 2024

A18 is a clear jump and the extra RAM and battery help daily; one of the best compact phones, held back by 60Hz and slow charging.

  • Digit80/100Oct 2024

Buy for camera and speed; wait if Apple Intelligence is the reason, as prices should fall (India unit).

  • Tom's Guide80/100Nov 2024

Close to a Pro in features and among the best phones, with 60Hz the main letdown (score via Notebookcheck list).

  • India Today80/100Oct 2024

Solid, but skip if on an iPhone 14/15; good for iPhone 13 or older (page blocked; score and gist from Notebookcheck's list).

  • Hindustan Times70/100Oct 2024

Good design and speed but some expectations unmet; for upgraders from iPhone 14 or older (not opened; score from Notebookcheck's list, which labels it Times of India).

  • The Mobile Indian84/100Oct 2024

Worth it for iPhone 13-or-older owners and Android switchers despite 60Hz and slow charging (not opened; score from Notebookcheck's list).
