For the starting version. Each part is measured the same way for every laptop (processor and graphics from benchmark results) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

  • Top-tier gaming and CPU speed with a full-power GPU
  • Bright, high-contrast Mini LED panel
  • Two Thunderbolt 5 ports and easy upgrade access
  • Sustained performance stays high with good cooling
  • Matte Mini LED screen and quad speakers stand out
  • Comfortable keyboard, plenty of ports, tool-free upgrades
  • Very strong performance

Cons

  • Fans get loud when gaming
  • Plastic underside marks easily and no rear ports
  • Draws a lot of power; no PCIe 5.0 storage
  • Short battery life (about 3-5 hours light use)
  • Sharp front edge, limited hinge angle and smudgy finish
  • Weak webcam and very expensive
  • Battery lasted about 4 hours in an office test and about 1 hour gaming
  • Tested RTX 5090 / 64 GB: very fast and the Mini LED screen is the main reason to pick it over the Strix G16, but the RTX 5080 version is nearly as quick at QHD and costs much less.

  • Tested RTX 5080 / 32 GB / 1 TB: strong, well-cooled and well-built with a great matte Mini LED, but a few ergonomic quirks and a high price; the 5080 is the smarter buy than the 5090.

  • Tested RTX 5080 / 32 GB / 2 TB: very powerful with a good HDR-capable screen and easy upgrades; held back by price and battery life.

India review (RTX 5080 Rs 3,79,990 / RTX 5090 Rs 4,24,990): fast and cool-running with a bright Mini LED screen; heavy, short battery life and only PCIe 4.0 storage.
