Comfort & fit

Each part is measured the same way for every model (from specs and lab test measurements where they exist) and moves up or down with what reviewers praise or criticise.

Pros

Very detailed, clear and spacious sound
Excellent ANC on low and mid noise
Lighter and comfier than the AZ80 for small and large ears
Better battery than before; granular multipoint and controls
Balanced, detailed, energetic sound with ANC on
Smaller, lighter and comfortable
LDAC, LC3 and three-device multipoint; wireless charging

Cons

Sony's rival sounds fuller in the bass; Bass+ EQ upsets the balance
AI call mode makes voices sound robotic
Weak case magnet; single taps sometimes read as double
Bass thins out with ANC off
ANC good but behind Bose
Battery good rather than great; buds fiddly to lift from the case
Odd default sound signature that needs EQ

What Hi-Fi?Jan 2025

A thoughtfully made, likeable premium pair with standout detail; their favourite premium earbuds at the time.
TechRadarJan 2025

The real deal for sound and features, unless top battery life or the very strongest ANC matter most.
SoundGuysApr 2025

Capable, feature-rich ANC earbuds with strong noise cancelling, held back by an unusual tuning and high price.
Tom's GuideFeb 2026

A good audio-first alternative to AirPods Pro 3 and Sony XM5, but at full price it trails the best flagships.
